Heaven (take 2)

from Everything by Elam Blackman

/

about

can you hear john elliot snoring in the background? he came to my place to record me. it was a barter situation. john got a loft with a dangerous ladder. and i got an engineer who was beyond tired. dead to the world. i like putting people to sleep. it's a great compliment. this mantra was written soon after my relationship ended and i had to find a way out of my grief. to a place of momentary peace. john and i were in a similar place. we'd left where we were living. uprooted ourselves to try and make a go of it in the bay area. inevitably as conversations go with john they'd turn philosophical. it's great to have a friend through a hard transition.
